This years championships will be held in Wales toward the end of July and we are fortunate that the Club will be represented by a strong team of archers, namely Keith and Margaret Hodinott, Bill and Barbara Campbell, Ian Fisher, Andrew Taylor, Andy MacKinnon (all under the Archery Association Europe (AAE) banner) and John Challis under the English Association. We wish them all well and trust they will return with a few well earned results. More details from website

UK FIELD ARCHERY CHAMPIONSHIPS (UKFAC)

The Championships were originally scheduled to be held in Scotland this year, but unfortunately the Scottish Association were unable to host them and so the English Association have stepped in to host them at Kings Forest Field Archery Course near Bury St. Edmunds. A few of our members have had the pleasure of shooting this course previously and have good words to say about the course and facilities, so it would be of no great surprise if some of our members will also be travelling south this year.

Update: ---

Keith Hodinott won 2nd Place in the Veteran Bowhunter Unlimited

Margaret Hodinott however won the Adult Female Bowhunter Unlimited

Andrew Taylor managed a credible 5th in the Adult Bowhunter unlimited

Bill Campbell came in 4th in the Longbow section

Barbara Campbell unfortunately couldn't shoot as the airline managed to break her bow on the way down.

Congratulations go to all and consolations to Barbara who (having looked at the results) would undoubtedly

have been in the medals.

Good luck to all our archers in the Europeans
