Inverness Field Archery Club (IFAC) was formed in 1986, and with a regular membership of over 50 archers is probably the largest club in Scotland.
Although IFAC is now an independent club, it shoots to the rules of the International Field Archery Association (IFAA).
The Club have moved to a new field archery course at Achagour, a scenic woodland near Ardclach (just off the Nairn to Grantown road). The course will also have practice areas, a club hut with kitchen and other facilities that will be available to members 361 days a year.
Non-members are welcome to join us by prior arrangement, for a day-membership fee of £1.00 (if attending a shoot, a further shoot entry fee will also be payable - this does not apply to Fun Shoots).
In the winter months, the club is held indoors at the North Kessock Community Hall. There are also indoor Portsmouth competitions held under the British Archery Postal League together with outdoor (irrespective of weather conditions) Frostbite competitions for the bravehearts amongst us.
Other competitions in which our members compete are held during the summer season, and range from local club shoots to National, European and World Championships - at which the club have often excelled.
Membership is open to all from the age of 12 years (with participating adult)- click on ‘Contact Us' to make an enquiry about our Beginners Course. Experienced archers are always welcome to join. Beginners use club equipment until experienced enough to purchase their own.
The 3-week (6 hours) Beginner’s Course is run by our qualified lnstructors. Places are very limited so please make your enquiry early!
IFAC also hosts 'come and try' sessions at the annual Moy Field Sports Fair, as well as at community events such as the Dingwall Touchwood festival, Kirkhill and Cawdor Galas and others.
We look forward to welcoming you to our club!
